Mangalore, Nov 29, 2013 : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash has said that the technical problems that have arisen pertaining to the site identified for the construction of the proposed Ambedkar Bhavan in Mangalore would be resolved at a meeting to be convened in the presence of District in-charge Minister shortly.
He was presiding over the Dalit grievances redressal meeting held at the DC office meeting hall on November 28, Thursday.
The DC said though a 1.6 acre land had been identified for the purpose at Derebail village, there has now arisen a problem as the land has been earmarked for some other purposes as per the guidelines. The files in this regard have been forwarded to the government, he said adding a meeting would be held with the in-charge minister soon after the assembly session.
The DC who also responded to a grievance of Dalit leaders that there has been a delay in issuing income and caste certificates to the SC ST people, directed the Tahsildar to hasten the process.
Dayanand, Additional DC, Dr Prashanth, Krishnamurthi, Assistant Commissioners, Arun Furtado, District Special Welfare Officer and representatives of various Dalit organizations were present.
