Aloysius College hosts Yuva Janapad Utsav

Mangalore, Aug 24, 2012: The Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy (KKSA) and Konkani Sangha of St. Aloysius College jointly organized Yuva Janapad Utsav in the auditorium of St. Aloysius College on August 24, Friday. 

Fr. Walter Andrade, president of the financial committee of St. Aloysius College, and Kasargod Chinna, president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy, inaugurated the event.

 

 

 

 

In his address, Mr. Chinna spoke on the need to preserve and promote Konkani language, culture, and folklore and pass it on to the next generation. He urged students to become active “soldiers for Konkani.” 

Sathish Bhat, principal of Canara College, Fr. Walter Andrade, and advocate Anitha Kini also spoke on this occasion. 

A cultural program featuring folk presentations and songs formed part of the event.
