Mangalore, Aug 28, 2013: The members of Boliyar madrasa committee said that the arrest of a madrasa teacher Abdul Khader Yamani in Boliyar on the charge of sexual assault of a six-year-old girl was a conspiracy knitted by the other jamath committee.

Addressing the press meet held at Press Club on Aug 28, Wednesday, MS Yusuf, secretary of the madrasa committee said that the statement given by the child and her mother on sexual harassment is a conspiracy and nothing of such kind has taken place in the madrasa. The sexual harassment charges was a story made by people who could not have their way and change the Madarasa syllabus which is  in favour of the EK Faction.

He also said that the teacher is serving as the head master from September 1, 2012 and 150 students each coming to morning batch evening batch. None of the students have seen teacher taking child to other room. There is a big hall in the mosque and partition walls are there, then how he can sexually harass her, he asked. 

The police officials from Konaje Station did not even inform about their visit to arrest the teacher and directly came in civil dress and taken away the teacher in private vehicle, he said. If it was true, why not the child did not reveal it before, he added.

In Boliyar Jamath only 10 percent houses are against the teacher and rest all are in favour to us, he said.

But when the media raised the question of appointing a teacher, who is alleged with similar incident to 10 year girl in madrasa as per the complaint lodged art Manjeshwar Police Station, they said that we do not want to know about his allegation in Manjeshwar, but we are only concerned about the allegation on our jamath. 

After an hour’s argument between the committee members and media, the members finally agreed to conduct the internal investigation of the incident with other students and the victim.
They also said that if the allegation filed against the teacher proves to be correct, they will not support or protect him at any cost.  They also assured to install the CCTV cameras in the Madrasa in the coming days.

Boliyar Jamaat President Abdul Rehman Anegundi, Masjid Construction committee President Aboobakker, member SI Khan Musliyar and Haider were also present.
