Airtel Wi-Fi Hotspot Zone launched at City Centre

Mangalore, Feb 9, 2013: Bharati Airtel in association with Mohtisham group launched an Airtel Wi-Fi hotspot zone at City Centre mall on February 9, Saturday.

Harshad, MD of City Centre mall launched the Airtel Wi-Fi at the formal launching ceremony.

Saurabh Goel, Chief Operating Officer of Bharati Airtel Karnataka said that ‘Mangalore is now Wi-Fi enabled city, soon to be followed by Udupi and Manipal. He added that anyone with a WIFI enabled device can connect to the Airtel Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Bharati Airtel, declared Mangalore the first city and the mall the first one in Karnataka to be Wi-Fi enabled, and said that Airtel will now provide high-speed internet in other popular hangouts such as cafes, restaurants, and public places like hospitals and hotels and other places.

‘Ours is a very secure network that has been created within the approved framework of TRAI guidelines and regulations. We have also taken care to make this a hassle-free login and browsing experience," he added.

The Airtel Wi-Fi hotspots provide users with an unprecedented experience of speed of 2 mbps.

All retail partners in the mall that are Airtel Wi-Fi hotspots have been provided admin access to create login coupons. These coupons come at cost of Rs 20 for half an hour, Rs 30 for 1 hour with 48-hour validity and Rs 50 for two hours with 7-day validity.

  Goel said that presently, Airtel has established 100 retail outlets in city and aims to reach 300 outlets by March 2013. Airtel Wi-Fi coupon bought from its outlet can be used at any location in city.
