AIFUCTO to host 3 days XXVII Statutory Conference

Mangalore, Nov 28, 2013: All India Federation of University & College Teachers’Organizations (AIFUCTO) will host three days XXVII Statutory Conference at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius PU College Mangalore from Nov 30, Saturday to Dec 2, Monday. 


Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 28, Thursday, Conference Chairman Dr A M Narahari said that over 1500 teachers from more than 20 states from all over the country will be participating in the national seminar ‘Changing Paradigms of Higher Education-12th Plan Initiatives’.

He also said that Oscar Fernandes, Union Minister for Transportation, Road & Highways will inaugurate the conference on November 30, Saturday at 10.30 am. 


B. Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forest, Environment, and Ecology will release the conference souvenir. Vinayakumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development, Government of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest. J.R. Lobo M.L.A, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Rev. Fr.Denzil Lobo, Rector, St. Aloysius Institutions, Dr. B.L. Bhagyalakshmi, Director of Collegiate Education and Office bearers of AIFUCTO and FUCTAK will be the guests of honour.


Abhayachandra, Minister of State for Fisheries and Youth Services will inaugurate the National Seminar on December 1, Sunday at 10.30 am.


Rev. Fr.Swebert D’Silva, Principal, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) will preside over. Prof. Ravi Srivastava, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Prof. Sudhanshu Bhushan, NUEPA (National University for Educational Planning and Administration) will present their view points on issues concerning higher education.


The Conference will highlight on various issues of higher education and Movement Resolutions will be passed. 


President Dr Norbert Lobo, General Secretary of Aifucto Prof. Ashok Barman, General Secretary of Amuct Purshotham K V and Treasurer Charles Pais were also present.
