Mangalore, July 21, 2012 : The Akhila Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a protest in Jyothi Circle on July 20, Friday, demanding that the government must re-introduce the old system of admission for third and fifth semester polytechnic students.
The protestors formed a human chain and shouted slogans against the state government.
According to the government’s latest circular, students who failed in four or fewer subjects are only eligible to be admitted to the third and fifth semesters. The protestors said that the government should have issued the circular long before the exams and demanded that the old method must be re-introduced.
The protestors also demanded that the government must provide basic facilities in polytechnic colleges across Karnataka.
