Kundapur, Nov 30, 2013: A teenage girl ended her life over the matter of Rs 200 at her residence on November 29, Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Shubha (15), daughter of Shiva and Baby, residents of Moodu Giliyar, Nethaji Nagar, Kota.
Shubha’s father is a fisherman in Kerala and mother is working as a daily wager.
Reportedly, Shubha who was studying in 9th Standard English medium at Vivek Girls High School, Kota has asked her mother to give her Rs 200, but her mother refused to give since she did not have the money and told her to give after her father came home from Kerala on Friday evening.
As usual on Friday morning, Shubha along with her brother Karthik studying in 5th standard got ready for school. Shubha’s mother who also left for work had returned back at 10.30 am as she was not feeling well and found Shubha’s room locked from inside. She with the help of few neighbours broke open the door and Shubha was found hanging.
Shubha was good at academics and sports too.
Kota circle inspector Arun Naik visited the spot. Kota police have registered the case.
