A B Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences receives award for excellence in oral health services

Mangaluru, Aug 6, 2025: The A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences has been honored with the Special Recognition Award by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, for its exceptional contributions to oral health promotion and services.
Prof. Dr. Mithra N. Hegde, Principal of the institute, received the award from Dr. Sunitha Sharma, Director of General Health Services; Dr. L. Swasticharan, Additional Deputy Director General & Director (Emergency Medical Relief); and Dr. R. P. Joshi, Additional Director of General Health Services, all representing the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The award ceremony was held during the 7th National Steering Group (NSG) Meeting for Oral Health, under the National Oral Health Programme, on August 6, 2025, at the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.
