Mangalore, Jun 6, 2014: It is reported further to the accident that Six-year-old Rohit, grievously injured when a tempo hit him at Gurpur here on June 5, breathed his last in a hospital in the city the same night.It may be recalled that Rohit, a first standard student of Our Lady of Pompei School, was waiting for the school van with his mother in the morning, when the tempo ran over him. Rohit was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
He was the son of Rajendra Poojary and Jyothi, residents of Gurpur.
Hospital sources said that Rohit breathed his last at soon after 8.30 pm. His body was later handed over to the family.
The public are wary of the number of road accidents taking place in the city of Mangalore and surroundings and are demanding that due precaution and action to prevent negligence and other factors that are the cause. Rules and laws are flouted by those that should strictly adhere to them and safety/ security have no priority on any kind.

May God rest the boy’s soul in peace and give the family courage to go through this difficult time. Large vehicles should follow speed limit and having wide roads big enough for such vehicles to drive through properly is a much needed requirement these days. |
