2 persons crushed under moving train at Navoor, Ullal

Mangalore, April 25, 2013 : Two persons lost their lives after they were hit by trains in two separate incidents reported from the district on April 24, Wednesday. It is not yet clear if the deaths were accidental or if it were cases of suicide.

In the first case, Jayaram Gowda (55) from Navoor, Kaniyoor in Puttur taluk,  was run over by a train while he was reportedly trying to cross the tracks at Eladka between Kaniyoor and Yedamangala on April 24 at around 8 am.

In yet another incident, a man from Bondel was killed after he was hit by a train on the tracks between Ullal and Kolya at around 11 am.

It is not known why the man P Sesappa Poojari had gone to Ullal. It is learnt, he had left home saying he would read some newspapers and return. His body was identified with the help of a cell phone found at the spot.

Railway police have registered cases.
