15 injured in collision between 2 buses near Kumbhashi

Mangalore, Sep 11, 2013 : As many as 15  people were injured, two of them seriously in a head-on collision between two express buses near the Kumbhashi Anegudde welcome arch on September 10, Tuesday.

If the Durgamba Bus was heading towards Kundapur from Udupi, the other bus named ‘Vijayalakshmi’ was proceeding towards Mangalore from Kundapur. The drivers of  both the buses, Ashfaq and Pradeep have sustained serious injuries in the mishap.


Eyewitnesses said   the mishap took place when the driver of the Vijayalakshmi bus   tried to overtake another vehicle. Though the driver of the Durgamba  bus tried his level best to avert a collision, the bus hit against the divider and fell into a five to six feet deep gorge.

Kundapur police have registered a case.
