1 dies, 30 injured as car hits against bus at Parkala

Udupi, Sept 16, 2013: A macabre accident involving a Maruti car and a private bus at Parkala claimed the life of one person while leaving nearly 30 injured on September 16, Monday. The condition of five of the injured is said to be critical.

The deceased person is Vasanth Nayak who was driving the car. According to eyewitnesses, the car was proceeding at great speed and eventually rammed into the bus while trying to overtake it near a curve at Parkala. The bus rolled off the road due to the impact of the collision.

A seriously injured Vasanth succumbed on way to hospital. If the car was heading towards Udupi, the bus was going towards Karkala from Udupi.

Manipal police have registered a case.
