Stating that many people had been wondering if it was possible to perform a Koti Namarchane in the month of April when tulsi leaves are scarce, he said that the Koti Namarchange was successfully performed with the devotees’ strong desire to perform it. A committee for the same was formed prior to 5 months of the program, he said.

Since the programme was not restricted to DK alone, the temple received plenty of tulsi leaves from April 18 to April 28, he said. He said that the rains played spoilsport during the inaugural ceremony, forcing them to move to the temple hall instead of holding the inaugural ceremony outdoors as initially planned. Claiming that the rains that started at the beginning of the Koti Namarchane solved the district’s water problem, he said that 25 – 26 swamijis from different mutts visited the temple.

Further, he said that the development in the district is the result of 84 ’Nagamandalothsavas’ and 113 ’Dharmanemas’ performed in the past. He also stated that the Karavali coastline remained untouched by natural calamities because of the ’Homas and Havanas’ performed time and again.

Speaking about the temple committee’s future plans, he said that it plans to start anganwadis, LKG/UKG classes, and build 2000 houses.

N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the state legislative assembly; Krishna J. Palemar, the former Ministe, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, and Captain Ganesh Karnik were also present.
