‘Modi is not acceptable as PM in our country’: Poojary

Mangalore, Sep 14, 2013: Senior congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that nominating Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidate in the forthcoming elections is blunder committed by BJP.

Speaking at the press meet held at district Congress office on September 14, Saturday, he said that BJP has nominated Modi with pressure from RSS. The nomination of Modi as PM shows the real colour of BJP. They want to saffronise the country. The RSS is behind the scene. 

The man who built Bharathiya Janata Party is dumped. He was referring to the BJP senior leader, L. K. Advani.  They have forgotten the man who lived a life building a national party. By nominating Modi as PM candidate, they have forgotten the contributions made by Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Murali Manohat Joshi and other senior leaders and stalwarts of BJP. Modi has dishonoured Advani and others including Vajpayee. Modi’s nomination has divided the party itself, he said.

Poojary said that hundreds of people lost their lives in Gujarat communal riots instigated by Modi and his communal fanatics. Modi has ruined peace and harmony in Gujarath. He will ruin the the country also. The Supreme Court order to reinvestigate the encounter case against 31 cops including DIG is proof of his dictatorship. Vajpayee who had condemned this act asked Modi to give up the post.

Advani had also slammed Rajnath Singh for nominating Modi as PM candidate without consulting BJP leaders like Senior BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi and states chief ministers. Modi will not be accepted in the country and in Karnataka, since people of the country are not fools to believe his tantrums, he said.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Masood, Kallige Tharnath Shetty, Sadashiva Ullal, Ajith Kumar Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde, Vijay Kumar Shetty and other congress leaders were present.
