‘Missing’ speaker spotted at Bajpe airport; heads towards undisclosed location

 Mangalore, Jan 26, 2013  : Assembly Speaker KG Bopaiah who has to play decisive role in the current political scenario of the state, but went ‘missing’ all of a sudden, was surprisingly spotted at the Mangalore International Airport at Bajpe on January 25, Friday.

 

 

Bopaiah who arrived by a Mumbai flight at around 7.30 pm, evaded the  media and   rushed towards a car waiting for him and left for an undisclosed location.

The car in which he proceeded was a private car and he had no police escort. Police too said they are unaware of the Speaker’s whereabouts.

Just 15 minutes before the Speaker’s arrival, a senior police official had landed at the airport by a Bangalore flight and when enquired by the media men in waiting,  he said he was unaware of the visit of the Speaker.

It has been learnt that even the district administration had no prior information regarding the speaker’s visit.  It was difficult to recognize the speaker who was wearing a sweater and the suspicion is that he might have landed in Mumbai from Nepal and arrived in Mangalore from there.

Meanwhile, a JD(S) leader of Mangalore who too was in the same flight, said the speaker remained unresponsive though he tried to  speak to him.
