Mangaluru, July 7, 2026: Sangeet Bharati Foundation (R), Mangaluru, has announced the inaugural edition of ’Bank of Maharashtra Rimjhim’, a grand evening of Hindustani Classical Music, to be held on Sunday, July 12, at 5:30 pm at the Town Hall, Mangaluru. The concert is open to the public, with free entry for all music enthusiasts.
Addressing a press conference, Narendra L. Nayak, Vice President of Sangeet Bharati Foundation (R), said the programme will feature some of India’s distinguished Hindustani classical musicians and promises an enriching musical experience for audiences.
The evening will begin with a sitar recital by Sanjeev Korti of Bengaluru, followed by a Hindustani Classical vocal concert by Pt. Shashank Makthedar of Goa. The artists will be accompanied by Mayank Bedekar of Goa on tabla and Guruprasad Hegde of Sirsi on harmonium.
Nayak said the concert marks the first in a series of classical music programmes planned by the foundation during 2026 with the objective of promoting and preserving India’s rich classical music heritage.
The event is title-sponsored by the Bank of Maharashtra. Associate sponsors include Century Group, led by Chairman Dr. P. Dayanand Pai, Bengaluru, Canara Bank, Karnataka Bank, Union Bank of India, Shri Nidhi Builders, EXPERT Group of Institutions, Mangaluru, while Mudra Printers is the printing partner.
Inviting music lovers, students, families and patrons of the arts to attend, Nayak said the event is intended not only as a musical concert but also as a celebration of India’s cultural heritage through Hindustani classical music. He also appealed to corporate organisations and patrons to support initiatives aimed at promoting classical arts and preserving the country’s musical traditions.
He urged the public to arrive at the venue well before the programme begins and requested media organisations to extend wide publicity to the event.
