Patna: Vehicle carrying 25 passengers falls in Ganga, 8 bodies recovered

Patna, April 23, 2021:      At least eight people were killed and several others went missing after a passenger vehicle fell into the Ganga River in Patna’s Danapur.



The incident took place on Friday morning when a passenger vehicle carrying at least 25 people was going over the river via Pipa Bridge. The vehicle reportedly lost balance and fell into the river. As per inputs, the passengers were coming back from a tilak ceremony.

The rescue workers on site recovered eight bodies from the river. The search for the missing was still underway.

The deceased have been identified as Ramakant Singh (75), Geeta Devi (60), Arvind Singh (50), Saroj Devi (65), Anuradha Devi (75) and Ashish (8). The bodies of two other kids, aged 12 and 14, are yet to be identified.
