SAMBALPUR, May 16: Veteran Odia film actor Shanti Swarup Mishra alias Tiku sustained bullet injures after an unidentified person shot at them inside Mishra’s house in Fatak under Ainthapali police limits at around 9.20 pm on Thursday.

odia-actor-sho... The second injured person was identified as Nitya Pattnaik of Ainthapali and is said to be a friend of Mishra. Both of them were rushed to Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to VIMSAR at Burla.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit and further investigation is on. Reports said the miscreant barged into the house of Mishra and opened fire at Mishra and Pattnaik.

Two bullets have reportedly hit Mishra on his chest while one bullet hit the upper arm of Pattnaik. However, the miscreant managed to escape.

Mishra had starred in Odia films “Mana Akasha” released in 1974 besides “Krushna Sudama” released in 1976. Both the films were directed by Nitai Palit.
