Kerala man flushes 7kg gold down the drain to escape customs

Hyderabad, May 22, 2014: According to a report sourced from Kannur Kerala, an unnamed middle aged person hailing from Kannur, who disembarked from an overseas flight at Shamsabad airport, Hyderabad; allegedly dumped gold weighing 7 Kg into the toilet on realizing that he would be apprehended by customs authorities and he had no way of escape.

On  leaving the arrivals immigration check point, waiting customs who had been tipped off  detained the man who denied all knowledge at first, on being closely questioned he admitted and led them to the toilet. A good part of the gold was recouvered with the remaining going down the drain. Further investigations are on.
