New Delhi, Mar 28, 2026: Amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, Iran has made a symbolic gesture by “thanking the people of India” through messages written on missiles reportedly launched towards Israel.
Visuals circulating online show handwritten notes reading “thank you” addressed to countries including India, Germany, Pakistan, and Spain on missiles said to be fired at Israel and other targets.
The messages were reportedly seen during what Iran described as the 83rd wave of its military campaign under “Operation True Promise 4”, carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Iranian state media outlet Press TV.
A social media post shared by the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai stated: “Gratitude from Iran’s Aerospace Force to the people of Spain, Pakistan, India, and Germany for their support and solidarity, especially during the 83rd wave of missile response to the US and Israel.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz remains open for India and other “friendly nations”, noting it is “closed only to enemies”. He added that countries such as China, Russia, India, Iraq, and Pakistan continue to have access.
At the same time, donation drives have emerged across Kashmir and Kargil in Ladakh in support of war-affected people in Iran. Contributions have included not just cash, but also gold jewellery, silver ornaments, copper utensils, livestock, and even vehicles such as cars and motorcycles.
The Iranian Embassy in India acknowledged the support on social media, thanking people in Kashmir for their humanitarian assistance and solidarity. “With hearts full of gratitude, we sincerely thank the kind people of Kashmir… this kindness will never be forgotten,” one post read, while another added: “We will never forget your kindness and humanity. Thank you, India.”
