Taking to X, husband Shahbaz Ansar wrote, “This person is threatening to throw acid on my wife’s face for her choice of clothes. Please take immediate action against this person to prevent any incident from happening.”

Nikith Shetty, a former employee of Etios Services, allegedly issued the disturbing threat message to the woman and warned her to dress appropriately in Karnataka.

After the message surfaced on social media Ansar’s post, netizens traced Shetty to his workplace. The company where he worked said he was fired and a case has been registered against him for threatening a woman.

“We are deeply saddened to address a serious incident involving one of our employees, Nikith Shetty, who made a threatening statement regarding another individual’s choice of clothing. This behaviour is unacceptable and goes against the core values we uphold at Etios Services,” the company said.

“As a company committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment, we have taken immediate action. Nikith’s employment has been terminated for a period of five years, and we have filed a case against him to ensure accountability for his actions,” the company added.

After the action against the accused, many people lauded the company’s move against the man who threatened the woman over her clothes. Ansar also thanked for the support he received on social media.

“The man who threatened my wife Khyati Shree with an acid attack lost his job. The company acted promptly and fired him. Thanks to everyone who made this happen,” he said.

The accused has been under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including Section 124 which deals with crimes involving attacks using acid or similar substances.
