New Delhi, Dec 17, 2015:  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today alleged massive corruption in Delhi’s cricket body, DDCA at a time it was headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Delhi’s ruling party reasserted that that the CBI raid on Arvind Kejriwal’s top officer Rajender Kumar was linked to a DDCA file in the Chief Minister’s office.

"This scam was about siphoning off money by creating fake companies between 1999 and 2013 and one year after that. This went on for 15 years," said AAP leader Kumar Vishwas at a press conference.

"When we tried to raise this with the Anti-Corruption Branch, it was taken away from us. The Chief Minister’s office was raided. His daily diary was taken up," he said.

The Chief Minister alleges that the CBI had searched for files linked to the DDCA or Delhi and District Cricket Association in his office on Tuesday. The raids were aimed at seizing these files to help Mr Jaitley, he said, adding that the raid team did not take the documents away only because he had highlighted this in the media.

Mr Jaitley has rubbished the allegations and the government has stood by him.

"Their strategy revolves around spit and run," said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu.

Another minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, said Mr Jaitley’s honesty and integrity were well-known. "The fact is, Kejriwal and his government are cornered, after trying to shelter a corrupt officer. Why has AAP taken up this issue, when it’s in deep trouble itself?"

Mr Jaitley was the president of the DDCA for 13 years till December, 2013.
