The yellow warning applies to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargod districts, with rainfall expected between 6 cm and 11 cm.

According to State Revenue Minister K. Rajan, Kerala has reported at least 11 rain-related deaths from May 9 to May 23. These include six drownings, two quarry accidents, two lightning strikes, and one house collapse.

The minister stated that rainfall in the state is forecast to slightly decrease after Saturday and urged people to avoid water bodies and coastal areas. He emphasised the need to discourage individuals, especially children, from entering water bodies during the vacation period.

As of Friday evening, eight relief camps across the state have accommodated 223 people.
