Udupi-origin man murdered in Sharjah; Wife, son missing

Udupi, Sep 22, 2026: A murder case involving a Udupi-origin man in Sharjah, reportedly dating back to July, has come to light, leaving his family in shock.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Kundar, a native of Udupi who was living in Sharjah with his wife, Tina, and their minor son. Following his death, both Tina and their son have reportedly gone missing, raising questions about their whereabouts.

According to reports, Prakash attempted to contact his brother around July 20. While he usually communicated through voice messages, he reportedly sent a text message on that occasion. When his brother asked him to make a phone call, communication was allegedly cut off.

Concerned by the situation, relatives contacted Prakash’s employer. The company reportedly told them that he had travelled to India. However, when Prakash did not arrive at his native place, his family became suspicious and approached authorities in Sharjah.

Sharjah police subsequently launched a search after Prakash was reported missing. During the investigation, his body was reportedly found inside his car. Reports stated that he had suffered stab injuries and that his body had been dismembered.

Police are reportedly examining the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Prakash’s wife and son. Tina has reportedly come under suspicion in connection with the case, although the circumstances of her disappearance and any possible involvement in the crime are yet to be established. There are also reports that she and her son may have travelled to India after leaving Sharjah.

Prakash had been employed at Sharjah Airport, while his wife worked as a teacher. The couple had reportedly been married for around 20 years and have a Class 10 student son. Family members said they were unaware of any serious disputes between the couple.

Prakash had last visited India in December last year, according to family members.

The family is awaiting the repatriation of his mortal remains after the completion of legal formalities in Sharjah. Further details regarding the investigation and the whereabouts of his wife and son are awaited.
