Tamannaah Bhatia summoned by cyber cell in ’illegal’ IPL streaming app case

April 25, 2024: Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber department in a case related to the illegal broadcast of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Fairplay app, a subsidiary of Mahadev online gaming and betting application.
Tamannaah, known for her roles in films like ’Baahubali’, has been summoned on April 29.
Earlier, rapper and singer Badshah was questioned in the same case. Actor Sanjay Dutt was also summoned in the case this week on Tuesday, but he has sought time to appear before the department.
All these actors and singers had promoted the Fairplay app to watch IPL even as the app didn’t have official broadcasting rights, leading to heavy losses for official broadcasters.
