Online application for Haj 2022 pilgrimage opens, people up to 65 years of age can apply

Saudi Arabia, Nov 03, 2021: Those who wish to perform Haj 2022 from Uttar Pradesh will be able to apply online from Tuesday. The last date to fill out the application is 31 January 2022. The Haj Committee of India has released the Haj Action Plan 2022 and the format of the form has been uploaded to the website .

However, this time for Haj, those above 65 years of age will not be able to apply. At the same time, it will be necessary to get both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, one month before the journey. Also, the validity of the passport of the applicants should be till 31 December 2022. In addition, women in the age group of 45 to 65 years going to Haj “without Mehram” will be able to apply in groups of 4 to 5.

People can also apply for Haj through the ’Haj Mobile App’ equipped with modern facilities.

As per UP Haj Committee Secretary Rahul Gupta, the application forms will be considered provisional till the final guidelines for Haj are released by the Saudi Arabian government. As of now, the date of selection of hotels for Haj pilgrims to stay in Mecca and Medina has not been announced.

This time, Indian Hajj pilgrims will promote ’vocal for local’ and go on Haj pilgrimage with indigenous products.

While announcing Haj 2022 at Haj House in south Mumbai on Monday, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the entire Haj process will be 100 per cent digital/online.

India sends 2 lakh Hajj pilgrims every year but the embarkation points have been reduced from 21 to 10 for Hajj 2022, Naqvi said. These are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Srinagar.
