These seven magnificent women Jenifer Dixon, Sr. Nirmala, Anita Mishra, Ellen Firestone, Desma D’Souza, Neelam Sharma, and Shradha Vyas are like the colors of the rainbow, overcoming all the obstacles in their lives and turning them into opportunities.

Harold D’Souza, President of Eyes Open International (EOI) organized a fabulous International Women’s Day event on March 7, 2021 recognizing, respecting, and rewarding these extra-ordinary women who have been game changers and life changers of our community.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. “If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. I have made it and I am so glad to share my achievement and happiness with my family and friends. I have got an amazing opportunity to speak on the international platform of Women’s Day, especially with EOI, grateful to Harold. On this woman’s day my only humble submission to all the women and men is, if you have a dream speak up, if you have a dream write up and if you have a dream pursue it”, shared the awesome Anita Mishra.

Ellen Firestone, Chief Operating & Service Officer for Simon Eye Associates, and Human Rights Ambassador shared; her passion for human rights of United Nations – 30 rights. “Universally women rights belong to everyone. I was born into a beautiful family. When I was at a point in high school to choose my career, my parents advised I don’t go to college, but my brother could go. I really wanted to go but I really did not know what I wanted to study. So, I ended up getting a job and decided I would go to school in the evening. That led to getting two Associate Degrees, then a bachelor’s degree, and two master’s degree but it was all in the evening. I ended up going to school for 20 years, when I worked a full-time job. Because somebody told me not to do it, I decided I am going to do it. Even if people told you not to do it, but you should know what’s in your heart. Keep taking one step at a time and continue on your path. ‘Ignite your basic purpose’ is on my website of Firestone.”

Neelam Sharma spoke with deep emotions expressing her feelings saying, “I would first like to congratulate EOI for such a successful event. I would further like to thank Harold for giving me such an amazing opportunity to share my story with women all around the world. It felt good to know that I am not alone in this journey and how all of us women can be each other’s support system. The session was really useful to me too as I heard stories about other women and how they overcame their respective challenges. It makes me truly believe that there is nothing a woman can’t achieve if she sets her mind and soul to it.”

Sr. Nirmala, Principal of Convent School empowered the audience by blessing Harold D’Souza first and the globe. Sr. Nirmala began her speech by greeting “Namaste”. In India “Namaste” means I respect God in you, and I respect God within me. “My handsome hunk Harold is not only making a drop in the ocean, but he is making enormous difference in the life of many people. I am Sister for the last 26 years. I have a life that I want to live in active goodness of God and forgiveness in the world, which is very important. If I live this and if I teach my students, my teachers, and my helpers to live with forgiveness and active goodness of God, no rejections in the world can stop us from becoming good beings.”

Jenifer Dixon, Executive Assistant to CEO -INOX India Pvt. Ltd., shared a beautiful example of her vibrant daughter Viona Dixon reflecting, “You cannot change the world, but you can change the corner you live in. I have changed the corner I have lived in. Way back, I was processing the papers for my daughter to pursue higher education in Canada. My friends told me why are you wasting your money sending your daughter for higher studies? What are you going to gain or benefit from that? With the same money get her married. I told them I am going to empower her. My colleagues told me all the money I spend on my daughter – her husband will benefit; her in-laws will benefit. I said no, I am empowering my daughter. Today my daughter is empowering other women in Canada, and I am proud of her.”

Shradha Vyas the famous Radio Jockey amazed audience worldwide smilingly; “My only motto, while I hold the mic or step in front of the camera, is to give smiles on audience’s face.
Shradha continued; I come from Bahrain and am right now in Mumbai. I started my journey when I was just fifteen. Life was full of challenges, hurdles, and never easy. Initial days I didn’t get support from my family, as this is not the field, they wanted me to go into. Slowly and steadily I started redirecting my journey. I am an anchor, successful influencer of Instagram. My confidence is my super power. No matter what comes in life, I get up, I dress up, and I show up. Each one of us should be that. It should just not be man or a woman. Life is very unfair and harsh. Failure should not make you low. Just consider your rejections as your redirections.”

Dynamic Desma R. D’Souza, Managing Partner, S&K Consulting-Dubai, UAE enlightened the audience globally sharing; “I am just on the beginning of my journey of an entrepreneur, which I embarked couple of years ago. I wanted to extend the power of influence I knew I had, and we all have. If I can do it anybody can do it. What we were able to achieve, was just by a shift in my own thinking. There is a very famous saying that says if you think you can or you can’t, you are right. Two years back, we thought we could and today we are thriving, it’s a goal we thought. Our vision is to change the landscape of HR (Human Resources) in the region, one business at a time. Slowly but surely, we are attracting all of the right businesses that have come our way.

Women across the world believe in practicing not preaching. Trust in delighting not satisfying. Love in caring not controlling.
