Dubai, April 10, 2021:     A 38 year-old Uttar Pradeshi named Mr.Chhangur Prasad came to UAE with his agent who convinced him to give a job.

Chhangur Prasad hails from Kushi nagar, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh married to Fuljhari Devi and a father for 4 children.

He came into a trap of an agent who said him that he will  provide him a good job in UAE if he pays him INR 85,000/-

After believing him Chhangur paid the said amount and traveled to UAE along with him, after keeping Chhangur in one bachelors flat in Sharjah the agent ran away and there were no whereabouts of the agent.

Bothered Chhangur with no food and no money started to find his agent but for his stagger he was unable to find him.

On 11th March 2021, Chhangur Prasad became ill and went unconscious on the road of Sharjah city of UAE, Upon receiving the call from Sharjah Police 911, National Ambulance brought Chhangur to Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah.

He was found on street in altered sensorium, when the doctors team examined him, it was learned that Chhangur has tumor in his Brain and chest.

When this subject came in to my note, I immediately acted to this matter and visited Chhangur Prasad at Al Qassimi Hospital. I studied in detail of this subject and discussed with the doctors team what is the further treatment can be given, upon to this doctors suggested me to send him to India immediately for cancer treatment.

I requested the doctors and hospital management to keep him for few more days under their observation and continue his treatment, so that at the mean time I will try to connect his family to come and take him back.

However with huge efforts I was able to find his family details and informed his brother in law to come down immediately.

On 14th March 2021 Chhangur’s brother in law Kushahr Prasad came to UAE, after discussing with him I got a clear understanding that he comes from very poor family where they can’t afford to pay the hospital bills.

When Chhangur was slightly recovered and was able to walk I asked him to give his passport so that I can book his tickets, Unfortunately to my surprise he lost his passport when he was ill and unconscious.

Now the things were not in the state of possibility , without the passport it’s only one way to repatriate Chhangur and i.e on (EC) Emergency Certificate / Out Pass.

So, the first person came into my mind was Mr.Hidayath Addoor - Convener, International Kannadiga’s Federation.

Since he’s my inspiration and I learned many things in social service at International Affairs, and I have a very good brotherhood relation with him for very long time, I dialed his number and informed the Scenario.

He was in a meeting of his new venture The Fresh he excused the meeting attendees and rushed to the Hospital and along with me he visited Chhangur and instilled confidence and promised him for his early repatriation to India.

Now it was time for his discharge and take him under our shelter, The first thing was to look after the hospital bill which stands at AED 10,520/- equals to INR 2,10,400/-. The ill and destitute Chhangur was not in good state to clear the bills, So I looked at him and then I glares at the hospital bills then again I looked at the exit door, I had an option to leave him and run, but my heart my superintendence my religious beliefs and moreover  my nationalism didn’t permitted me to do so and leave Indian brother at distress.

Without thinking at the next second I made the payment agreement on my name assuring hospital that I will take the responsibility of his payment and signed the declaration and got Chhangur discharged.

When I was about to take him down,  Mr.Hidayath Addoor came to me after his discussion with doctors, and shockingly asked what about the bills? I explained him what I did !!
Mr.Hidayath said ; this’s not fair,  The hospitals bills will be cleared by our IKF and Aim India Forum team, you should have informed me earlier.

Now it was time to provide him shelter and food till Chhangur repatriated , So Mr.Hidayath contacted KNRI-UAE, President Mr.Praveen Kumar Shetty ( Chairman Fortune Group of Hotels ) although Mr.Shetty was in India for his business trip he responded quickly and without thinking for next second, he said us to take the distress to his hotel and he provided food and accommodation to Chhangur and his brother in law Kushahr.

During the time of discharge we have informed the Consulate General Of India, Dubai about the current on going situation, acting to this the Vice-Consul from Welfare Department - MADAD Mr.Jitendra Singh Negi assured us mission will extend their full support on his matter.

On 22nd March 2021, I registered a complaint at Dubai Police for his passport lost certificate, which was obtained on 28th March 2021, On the same day it was shared at Consulate office and upon the close followup by me , Mr.Hidayath and Mr.Praveen Shetty the EC/ White passport was issued very next day for the early repatriation of Chhangur Prasad.

After obtaining the white passport, I visited General Directorate of Residency and Foreigner Affairs, Sharjah with Mr.Imran Yermal for the immigration clearance of Chhangur Prasad. Soon after his immigration clearance the same was shared at the Consulate office for further process of repatriation.

With everyone efforts Chhnagur was finally repatriated on 4th April 2021 and safely re-united with his family, and now his further treatment is going on and we all are in regular touch with his family .

The Aim India Forum team under the supervision of their legal board President & director Advocate Yasir Arfath Makandar is working and collecting ground reports on labour issues and the agents network to take appropriate action against this fraudulent jobs scam in overseas.

Speaking on this issues Advocate Yasir Arfath said he will fight for this in accordance to the law.
