Young entrepreneur meets tragic end during Kambala

Moodbidri, Dec 30, 2013 :A young entrepreneur lost his life  when he  accidentally slipped into a lake without embankment  at Hokkadigoli in Belthangady taluk,  even as the historic Veera Vikrama Kambalotsava   was underway. It is learnt, the lake was filled with slush.

The deceased is  Rajesh Bhat (26), son of Ramakrishna Bhat of RK Enterprises which is well-known for  lighting and pandal arrangements in Moodbidri.

According to eyewitnesses Rajesh was standing close by the lake when he in order to prevent slush from getting splashed at him as buffaloes are let into the field, took a step backward and fell into the  lake.

Though he was rushed to the Alva’s Hospital in Moodbidri, he had breathed his last then.

It is learnt, no fencing around the lake was provided this time though a fencing was erected during the Kambala last year.
