Will contest and win if given a ticket, says an optimistic Poojari

Puttur, Jan 11, 2014: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojari has said that he  would contest from the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency and ensure a win for the party if it decides to field him.

Speaking to reporters here on January 10, Friday,  Poojari  while referring to his defeat in the previous  elections, said he  was then unable to   do a rigorous campaigning on expected lines as he was given a ticket in the last minute.  He further said the high command has decided to  announce the candidate well in advance this time.

At the same time Poojari made it clear that he would not contest from any other constituency other than  Dakshina Kannada.

 
On Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal’s austerity measures, he said he had followed such measures decades ago when he was  a union minister and recalled that he had never taken his wife or children in his official car. He also claimed that he was taint tree and  pointed out that there is not even a single  allegation against him.

 While condemning RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat for his provocative speech at Gururpur, Poojari at the same time  said it was not proper to threaten him for the same.

 He further questioned why Bhat  has not been arrested in the case despite an FIR lodged against him and demanded his immediate arrest.

Congress leaders A Hemanath Shetty, N Sudhaker Shetty,  Mohammad Ali and others were present.
