Mangaluru, April 28, 2024: Exuding confidence in his victory in the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat in the elections held on Friday, April 26, BJP candidate Captain Brijesh Chowta asserted on Saturday, that truth would prevail over the falsehood propagated by the Congress.

Addressing reporters, Capt. Chowta expressed satisfaction with the positive response from women to his call for "Nava Durgas" to be the first nine women to vote in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from each polling station. "We are poised for a comfortable victory," Capt. Chowta confidently stated. When questioned about the potential margin of his win, he tantalizingly replied, "Wait until June 4; you’ll be in for a surprise."

Regarding the campaign’s focus on the Bunt-Billava narrative, Capt. Chowta emphasized that the discourse centered on "Modi and the opposition," with people clearly favoring Mr. Modi. He stressed that caste issues did not arise during the campaign.

Capt. Chowta outlined his plans to initiate a "Catch up with Captain" campaign to engage with voters regularly. He also pledged to showcase the true essence of Dakshina Kannada to other parts of the state and the nation, noting that he has already begun responding to numerous letters and emails received.

Satish Kumpala, the BJP president of Dakshina Kannada District, highlighted that the voter turnout this time was comparable to that of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Despite challenging weather conditions, party workers diligently carried out their duties at the booth level, supported by active involvement from Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel and other BJP legislators. Kumpala confidently predicted a landslide victory for the party.

Former MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, who serves as the BJP’s election in-charge for Dakshina Kannada, emphasized that the candidate has presented several aspirations and bears the responsibility to reshape the narrative. He interpreted the voter turnout as a sign of people’s trust in democracy.
