Mangalore, July 1, 2014 : A unique programme ‘Netravathi Varnajagrithi” attracted the attention of many during the Patrika Din celebrations held at the Patrika Bhavan in Mangalore on Tuesday July 1.
Netravathi Varnajagrithi organised by Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya and Karavali Chitra Kala Chavadi under the leadership of noted artist and environmentalist Dinesh Holla aimed at sensitizing the society on the drastic consequences of the Netravathi Diversion Project on the Western Ghats.
Artists namely Jeevan Salian, Wilson D’Souza, Sapna Noronha, Sabbeer Ali, Ganesh Somayaji,Permude Mohan Kumar, Tyagaraj and Santosh Andrade presented on the spot paintings on the topic.
Patrika Din inaugurated : The Patrika Din programme organised at the Patrika Bhavan in the city on July 1, Tuesday was earlier inaugurated by Sandhya S Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga weekly.
In her address, she exhorted journalists to lay thrust on clarity and facts while presenting reports. A reporter should always bear in mind his responsibilities towards the society, she further added.
Shivasubrahmanya,K, Editor of Hosadigantha, Ramakrishna R, President of Mangalore Press Club, Kiran Sirsikar, General Secretary, P.B.Harish Rai, President of DK District Working Journalists Association and others were present.
