Udupi :Gang of seven assaults chicken stall owner at Hoode

Udupi, May18, 2014 : A group of seven which barged into a chicken stall at Hoode on May 17, Saturday evening, reportedly attacked the stall owner.

The injured is Mohammad Aiz (14) who resided near the Hoode fish market. The exact reason behind the attack is not known. An injured Mohammad has been admitted to Ajjarkad Government Hospital.

The assailants who came in four bikes reportedly assaulted Mohammad with soda bottles. Later, Mohammad somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the assaulters. Sources say the assailants even pushed aside the ten year old daughter of Mohammad while chasing the latter.

But it is suspected that a tension that cropped up in Hoode during BJP victory rally might have led to the attack.

According to Mohammad, during the tension that prevailed, soda bottles  were hurled and pieces  of the bottle had fallen into the vessel of cooked food which he was supposed to supply to a nearby school as part of his catering business. He also said the food worth Rs 50,000 had thus gone waste.
