Sullia: Labourers attack plantation owner’s wife in dacoity bid

Sullia, Mar 04, 2023: An incident wherein two men who had been to work in a plantation, tried to attack the  lady owner of the house and rob her of cash and jewels has been reported from Karikkala in Pambettady village of Subrahmanya police  station limits on Thursday night.

 

The accused are Varadaraj (30) and  Saijan PP (38). The two were working in the plantation of Vishwanath  since four months and were residing in a shed near the house. On Thursday evening they had availed Rs 200 from the owner and had been to the town and returned in the night.

At around 9.30 pm the accused had entered the  first floor of the house using a ladder and threatened the owner’s wife Gayatri (61) and had demanded cash and gold. When the woman refused to reveal details the two tried to attack the woman who raised a cry. Neighbours Suresh and Prema rushed to the woman’s help. Still the accused managed to  inflict injuries on Gayatri. She was later provided treatment at Kadaba Government Hospital.

A case has been registered in Subrahmanya Police Station.
