Subrahmanya, Dec 31, 2013 : A  woman who worked as a domestic help was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the   room adjoining her employer’s house  at Alekkadi Kodyakanda near Murulya on December 30, Monday morning.

 

Meanwhile, the missing of a  man  who had identified himself as  the husband of the deceased Kamala (45) while joining work, is absconding thereby giving room for suspicion that he might have committed the heinous act.

It is learnt Kamala and Ravi had arrived at the farm house of Chanchalakshi seeking job  some time back and were employed as domestic help and were given accommodation in an adjacent open room. On Monday ,morning, Monappa who looked after the plantation found Kamala sleeping.  On finding Ravi missing, he suspected  foul play and entered the room along with neighbouring women.

They  lifted the blanket over Kamala and found her  lying in a pool of blood. It is suspected that she was smothered and then her head crushed against the floor.

It is learnt, Kamala who was earlier married to one Babu and had children from him, was staying with Ravi of Virajpete after the death of her husband. Ravi was engaged in rubber taping and wood cutting works.

Though the exact cause of the murder is not known, there is a possibility that Ravi might have picked up a quarrel with Kamala under the influence of alcohol.

 Finger print experts and a dog squad have been pressed into service. The sniffer squad went upto the main road   thereby indicating the possibility of the killer escaping in some vehicle.

Senior police officials visited the spot. Investigations are underway.
