St Sebastian Church to hold week long celebrations to conclude centenary year

Mangalore, Jan 11, 2014: To mark the valedictory of its centenary year, St Sebastian Church, Bendore will hold week-long celebrations from January 13, Monday to January 19, Sunday.


Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Jan 11, Saturday, parish priest Fr Anthony Serrao said that Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will preside over the valedictory ceremony.

The week long programme will begin with a holy mass on January 13, Monday, which will be held in remembrance of the parish founders, while the concluding ceremony will comprise of a solemn Eucharistic celebration on January 19, Sunday, he informed.


He also said that the centenary year which was inaugurated in January 2013, had undertaken various programmes and projects comprising of inauguration of St Sebastian Church Platinum Jubilee auditorium and renovated entrance arch.


Fr Anthony Serrao said that Archibishop of Bangalore Dr Bernard Moras, bishop of Beltangady Dr Lawrence Mukkhuzy, bishop of Bellary Dr Henry D’ Souza, union ministers Oscar Fernandes and Dr Veerappa Moily, state ministers Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, U T Khadar and Abhaychandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Janardhan Poojary, Sr M Wilberta, Sr Agatha Mary, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ganesh Karnik, MLC Monappa Bhandary will participate in the ceremony.


Leslie Rego, Ronald Valder, Lavina John and Walter Colaco were present at the press meet.
