Mangaluru, April 16, 2024: The garlanding of the statue of Brahmashree Narayana Guru in Mangaluru by the Prime Minister when his own government refused to permit the Narayana Guru Tableaux during the Republic Day parade two years ago, is nothing but an election gimmick, alleged KPCC Publicity Committee President Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Addressing press persons at the Congress office on April 16, Tuesday, he said the Prime Minister’s Road Show  after garlanding the statue of Narayana Guru, was nothing but a jumla just like his 2014 promise of bringing back black money.

Sorake exuded confidence that the Congress would set a record with its good performance in the Lok Sabha elections and said his party would win DK and Udupi. He said the election meeting of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar at Puttur has been put off due to temple festival and would be held soon.

Party leaders Shalet Pinto, T K Sudhir, Neeraj Pal and others were present.
