Several fall sick in Adyar after consuming tender coconut water sold by Bonda factory

Mangaluru, April 11, 2024: Nearly 15 people of Adyar Valachil area were taken ill after they reportedly consumed tender coconut water sold by a Bonda factory at Adyar.

 

It is said on April 8, residents of Kannur and Thumbay area had purchased tender coconut water from the factory and had consumed them. Meanwhile on April 9 morning, people from Adyar Kannur, Thumbay areas  suffered from diarrhea. As many as three are undergoing treatment as in-patients at a private hospital while 12 received treatment as outpatients.

On Wednesday following a complaint to the District Health Officer and District Food Safety Officer, officials visited the Bonda Factory and initiated measures to shut it down temporarily and to undertake cleaning operation.

The sample of the tender coconut water sold there was sent for lab test. Officials have requested public not to panic.
