Cash stollen in UppinangadyUppinangady, Feb 20, 2014:  A few youth of  Belthangady were successful in  trapping red-handed a person who was  escaping in an Innova car with a cash of Rs 4 lakh on February 19, Wednesday night. Two others were however successful in giving them a slip. The Innova car and cash belonged to a person from Tumkur.

The case goes as follows. Manohar of Tumkur had come to Dharmasthala along with four friends. They had parked their car on the roadside near the Netravathi bathing ghat and were taking a dip in the river. Three persons who were  watching them in hiding, robbed the car keys from the pocket of the trousers kept on the river bank and  escaped in the car towards Kokkada. By the time Manohar rushed, the three had fled the place. The Dharmasthala police were immediately informed.

As news spread like wild fire, a group of youth began to chase the car which was proceeding on Sauthadka road. Realising that they will be caught the trio stopped the car abruptly and began to run towards Mallige Majalu. The youth were finally successful in catching hold of one of them and handed him over to the police.

He has been identified as Sunil of Koramangala in Bangalore. Belthangady police are investigating the case.
