Post-centenary golden jubilee fete of Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa commences

Mangalore, Mar 31, 2014 : The Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa is celebrating its post-centenary golden jubilee. The celebrations were inaugurated at the Church Ground on March 30, Sunday, with an open air retreat being the first programme of the jubilee year.

Fr Anil Dev, Director of Matr Dham Ashram Varanasi, a renowned preacher led the retreat.

Mangalore Diocese Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the foundation stone for the new belfry of the church. He also unveiled the logo of the post-centenary golden jubilee year as also a calendar. The Bishop even dedicated a special jubilee family prayer and celebrated the holy mass.
Fr Victor D’Mello, Parish Priest, Fr Benjamin Lobo, Fr Jeevan Sequeira and others were present.

Over 2000 parishioners attended the celebrations.
