Therefore, the people here should support him in the upcoming elections and give him an opportunity to serve the district,” said State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader.
Addressing press persons at Hotel Woodlands on April 2, Wednesday, Khader said the need of the hour is an able representative who can effectively highlight the problems and aspirations of the people of the constituency in the Parliament. Poojary is a senior leader who is well aware of the problems of the region and has an urge to solve the same.
Continuing, Khader said the visit of Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi to Mangalore on April 4, would surely encourage young voters to take interest in the election.
He was highly critical of the BJP for speaking about cancellation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) if voted to power and added if at all such projects which ensured 100 man days of work per year to the poor, are cancelled, then it would hit hard the people.
Khader refuted some reports that Congress members had wielded weapons during the recent clashes at the Ullal Block Congress office. He clarified that no member had come with a weapon. At the same time he said differences of opinion were common in any party and added both the leaders who were involved in the clashes have been summoned to sort out the matter. All problems have been solved, he said.
