Mangalore, April 14, 2014:  AAP leader Yogendra Yadav   has said that the need of the hour is for a political force which can be a good alternate to both the Congress led UPA and BJP led NDA.

Addressing press persons in the city on April 13, Sunday, he said the AAP wants to emerge as an alternative political force and therefore has fielded over 400 candidates for the Parliamentary elections.

Alleging that the administrative machinery has seen a complete break down under the UPA government,  Yadav also  said that the Gujarat  model of development was a farce. Gujarat is lagging behind in health, education and child development fields, he added.

Continuing, he said the NDA might be a replacement for the Congress led UPA but cannot be an alternative. Our’s is not a number game politics, Yadav said and added AAP aims at emerging as an influential political force. “The Congress is routed in Delhi and the contest is only between AAP and the BJP,” he said.

Replying to a query from  former  AAP founding  member Ashwini Upadhyaya that the AAP is funded by Jindal, he said  there was an allegation that Jindal had funded the Jan Lokpal campaign. On enquiry, it came to light that the donor was an ordinary citizen named Jindal from Haryana.

Yadav at the same time made it clear that Aravind Kejriwal’s fight against BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Varanasi was not symbolic. The AAP is enjoying widespread support there, he claimed.

MR Vasudeva, AAP candidate from DK, Shivakumar and other party leaders were present.
