Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, April 4, 2013: Capt.Ganesh Karnik, MLC and former deputy chairman of NRI Forum of Karnataka has  made it clear that  Indians working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fearing danger from the newly introduced ‘Nitaqat’ Law were returning to their homeland on their own, and were not pressurized by anyone to do so.

karnik 1While admitting that the NRI population in Saudi Arabia was greatly concerned over the new Law wherein Saudi Arabia has decided to go indigenous over jobs, he said the problem was not as serious as thought by many.

Stating that India and Saudi Arabia maintained a very cordial relationship over the years,  he said Saudi Arabia will never think in terms of intentionally harassing Indian workers. Though the Indian embassy can help in cases of passport, visa or any other issue, when it comes to a law of another country, it cannot interfere, Karnik clarified.
