Nitte DU researchers selected by Japan Science & Technology to visit the University of Miyazaki

Mangaluru, Dec 01, 2023: Four women researchers from Nitte (Deemed to be University) will be visiting the University of Miyazaki, Japan from 11th – 17th December, 2023 under the program ‘Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science’ (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science). This is part of the efforts by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) to promote scientific and cultural exchange between Japan and Asian countries.  The program is entirely funded by JST with the main objective of encouraging collaboration, cooperation and interaction for nurturing innovation in science and technology amongst youths.

Nitte University has bagged this prestigious SAKURA exchange program for the 9th consecutive year based on the project proposal submitted by Dr. Harish Kumar Madhyastha, Faculty of Medicine and Applied Physiology, University of Miyazaki, Japan. The participants selected for this year program are: Dr. Aarti S. Bhatt, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte; Ms. Yashika P. B., Research Scholar pursuing her PhD under the guidance of Dr. Aarti S. Bhatt; Ms. Deepthi D. and Ms. Harshitha S. who are working as Senior Research Fellows in the Indo-Japan MEXT collaborative project guided by Dr. Harish Kumar Madhyastha and Dr. Suchetha Kumari N., Professor, Department of Biochemistry, K.S. Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte (DU). It is expected that the program will benefit the researchers through laboratory visits and discussions with other scientists at University of Miyazaki.
