Mangalore, Apr 1, 2013: The annual Nadavali Utsav of the historic Kudroli Shree Bhagavathi Kshetra was celebrated with religious fervour for three days beginning from March 29.
The festivities participated by chiefs of 18 villages and hundreds of devotees, prominently members of the Theeya Samaj from far and near, concluded on March 31.
The Shree Bhagavathi Kshetra at Kudroli is considered the origin for all of the 18 Bhagavathi Temples of Theeya Samaj. Mythology states that Goddess Bhagavathi took to this Avathar to destroy a demon called Darukasura.
Deities worshipped at the Bhagavathi Kshetra are Cheerumbha Bhagavathi, Padaangara Bhagavati and Pulluralli Bhagavathi.
During the annual fair, the village chieftains also offered Kendaseve. A variety of cultural programmes were also organised during the three day Nadavali Utsav.
