Mulki cop’s wife, son die in Honda Activa-tipper collision at Ekkar

Mangalore, Apr 10, 2014: A 32 year old woman and her 12 year old son died on the spot when a speeding tipper lorry rammed against their Honda Activa from the rear at Ekkar near Kateel on April 10, Thursday afternoon. The deceased Surekha is the wife of Umesh, a head constable in Mulki police station. The couple’s son Vachan is another victim in the mishap.
Umesh who was riding the two-wheeler has sustained serious injuries and has been rushed to AJ Hospital. His condition is said to be critical. The couple’s other son Advaith (6) however sustained minor injuries.
The mishap took place when the family of four from Kumpala was on way home after visiting Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple.
A case has been registered in the local police station.
