Mangaluru, Nov 09, 2023: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated a Jala Deepavali programme near the Thumbay vented dam on November 9, Thursday aimed at creating awareness among self-help group members on the importance of water conservation. The programme was organised under the Amrit Abhiyan of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.

Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur said the women are enlightened on the process of water supply and distribution as well as water purification before supplying.

Chief Whip of MCC Premanand Shetty, Opposition leader Praveen Chandra Alva, MCC Commissioner Anand, Deputy Mayor Suneetha, Standing Committee Presidents Bharath Kumar, Varun Chowta, Lohith Amin and others were present.
