Mangalore, Feb 22, 2014: The CCB police have arrested a man of Bijapur origin on the charges of drug peddling at Bejai New Road junction in the city on February 21, Friday. Police have seized two kg of ganja worth nearly Rs 40,000 from him.
It has been alleged that he was selling 5 grams of ganja for Rs 100 to students and public.
The arrested man is Anand Manohar Pawar (27) of Muddabihal in Bijapur. The arrest followed a tip off that he was selling ganja near a closed shop at Bejai New Road Junction. Interrogations revealed that he used to procure ganja from Bijapur.
It is also said that he worked as a mechanic at KSRTC.
The raid was led by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza.
