Mangalore, June 5, 2014 : Mangalore City Crime Branch police have arrested three accomplices of notorious underworld don Vikky Shetty. The arrested are Dikshith Poojary (25) of Maroli, Susheel Kumar (24) of Mannagudda and Puneeth KP (21) of Derebail. Police have also seized a pistol, five live bullets, two knives, a Chevrolet car, a two-wheeler, four mobile phones and a packet of chilli powder from them.
The arrests followed a tip off that the three were hatching a plot to loot a rich person and eliminate Chandrahas Shetty alias Chandu and Bharathesh of Bokkapatna, two of the accused in the case of murder of Bejai Raja.
Of the trio, Dikshith Poojary was an accused in the Vijayendra Bhat shoot-out case and John Pinto murder case reported from Mannagudda and was also facing charges of possessing illegal arms.
Another accused Susheel Kumar was wanted in the case of illegal arms possession and plot to kill rich men at the behest of underworld don Chota Shakeel in 2010.
The operations were led by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza and Sub-Inspector Shyamsunder under the orders of Mangalore Police Commissioner R Hithendra and guidance of Dr Jagadish, DCP (Law and Order) and Vishnuvardhana M, DCP (Crime).
