Mangalore, June 9, 2014: The Airports Authority of India has decided to provide an additional aerobridge for the Mangalore International Authority apart other amenities.
The Airport is already equipped with two air-conditioned aerobridges for passengers to get into the aircraft from the terminal building and vice versa.
The two Aerobridges have been imported from Indonesia. In the wake of increasing passenger traffic in Mangalore Airport a demand was placed forth for another aerobridge. Each of these aerobridges cost Rs 4 core to Rs 5 core and the same would be borne by Airport Authority of India.
Parking Bay : The AAI has also sent a Rs 10 crore proposal for an additional parking bay and the same proposal is likely to be implemented. The airport presently has a parking bay where six aircrafts can park in the new airport and three at the old terminal.
The airport sees as many as 40 domestic and international flights every day to various destinations including Sharjah, Doha, Bahrain, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa, Chennai and Kallikote.
